Steam Work Session Report April 10, 2010
It was a cold and windy morning that warmed up in the afternoon.
Rich Currie and Hans Brandes loaded coal we are going to sell to WW&F. New docent Eva Holmes and her boy friend John helped clean up and dispose of burned wood. Don Sanger helped clean up and laid out markers for an expanded engine house. Rick Knight and Brian Durham went through the rubble, identified tools and parts, photographed and recorded them for submission to our insurer. Don, Hans and Rich worked on that task as well once we pulled engine #7 out of the house. We all had home-made beef stew and Italian bread for lunch.
We lost a lot of tools and spare parts. We may not even know what we lost until we try to put #7 back together and are missing things. [I call them things, Rick knows what they are.]
Roger Merrow stopped in for a bit, and found out feral humans have been camping out in two of our cars.
Here is the bottom line, we need a lot of money and volunteer hours to clean all this up and make it right. We need your help!
